Help us develop a mapping tool for collecting floating plastic waste !

The SeaCleaners - Mapping tool

On the occasion of the Brest Ocean Hackathon, which will take place from October 11 to 13, The SeaCleaners invites you to take part in the adventure by putting your skills to the benefit of the Manta project and all floating plastic waste collection projects.

The objective of Yannick Lerat, Scientific Director and Eric Le Plomb, Operational Scientist, is to implement a Geographic Geographical Information System (GIS) tool that will integrate georeferenced data in order to obtain a map with layers such as:

  • Field observation data
  • Meteorology
  • Oceanography
  • Aerial imagery
  • Satellite imagery
  • Probability of presence of waste & evolutions

So, if you have skills in GIS, data analysis (machine learning, big data), programming, science and technology of the sea, meteorology, satellite imagery, or oceanography, and want to contribute to our project the time of a weekend, do not hesitate to register on the site of the event!
