A decisive breakthrough for The SeaCleaners’ scientific department!
At the beginning of 2020, we are pleased and honoured to announce the installation of our International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB). This body, which will bring together a dozen scientific experts from around the world, will have the mission of strengthening the scientific approach of our entire project, while contributing to the work and reflections of the international scientific community on the major study themes related to marine plastic pollution. Yannick Lerat, Scientific Director of The SeaCleaners, and Secretary General of the ISAB, presents here, in detail, the ISAB’s roadmap.

Major events of 2020

Will 2020 be the year of ocean preservation?

Several major events are on the agenda of major international organisations and world decision-makers this year, starting with the second UN conference on the oceans, which will take place from 2 to 6 June in Lisbon.

This will be followed by the IUCN World Congress in Marseille from 11 to 19 June, then the European Union’s “Our Oceans” conference in Palau (Malta) on 5 and 6 October, and finally COP26 in Glasgow in November, where the ocean issue should be high on the agenda.

The SeaCleaners will be present at these milestone events to highlight the need to act and to unite all efforts to combat the scourge of plastic pollution.
