NAUSICAA, National Sea Center in Boulogne-sur-Mer, is more than just an aquarium. It is a unique marine environment discovery center, both fun, educational and scientific, essentially focused on relationships between Man and the sea. The Centre's mission is to raise public awareness of a better management of the oceans and their resources and to encourage everyone to act. NAUSICAA is UNESCO's "Center of Excellence" for its awareness-raising actions. In 28 years, NAUSICAA has welcomed more than 17 million visitors and has established itself as a major player in raising awareness of the marine environment. The opening in 2018 of an extension around a basin restoring the ecosystem of the High Seas makes NAUSICAA one of the largest aquariums in Europe.
