About us
Our Mission
The SeaCleaners Swiss is a non-profit organization recognized as being of public utility and registered since 2019, whose mission is to protect our oceans and aquatic environments against plastic pollution.
Our project are focused on 3 main areas
Waste collection expeditions over three years in the world's most polluted areas, with scientific support.
An Environmental Council of scientific and technical experts to support and guide the development of our projects to maximise their effectiveness and impact.
Awareness-raising campaigns in Switzerland, France and abroad to mobilise citizens, companies and institutions around the challenges of plastic pollution.
In addition to these concrete actions, our international advocacy mission underpins all our initiatives. By raising awareness, sharing our results and demonstrating the effectiveness of local solutions, we aim to help change behaviour and public policy. In this way, The SeaCleaners continue to work towards global awareness and sustainable action against plastic pollution.
Governance Team
The Governance team is composed of dedicated volunteers who leverage their specialized skills and professional backgrounds to offer strategic guidance and ensure organizational accountability. These members serve in a voluntary capacity, providing strategic direction while holding no operational role within the organization.

Pollution of the aquatic environment is a universal problem, and life comes from the oceans. If our oceans are permanently sick, humanity will be irreparably sick. Getting involved with TSC Swiss is also my contribution to my children's future. TSC Swiss is a strong and committed team with realistic goals. We act locally and wherever we are needed

The ocean plays a crucial role in balancing our planet’s ecosystems, and I believe its protection is urgent and non-negotiable. The SeaCleaners vision and missions (to make clean seas a reality) is closely aligned with my values and commitment to environmental regeneration. Serving on its board reflects my deep connection to the ocean and my desire to contribute to solutions that protect and regenerate one of Earth’s most vital ecosystems.

After spending 6 months working full time for the organisation, I became fully aware of the scale of the problem of plastic pollution and marine conservation. This involvement has had a profound effect on me. Today, I'm keen to do my bit to give more visibility and hope to those who work every day for a cleaner ocean.
FAQ
How do Mobula boats work?
Mobula 8
The Mobula 8.2 is a compact, versatile clean-up vessel designed for coastal, estuarine and inland waters. It can collect up to 2.4 tonnes of debris – both floating debris and liquid pollutants such as oil – thanks to its rear absorption system. Constructed from lightweight aluminium, it’s easy to transport and quick to deploy, making it ideal for rapid response in sensitive environments.
Mobula 10
The Mobula 10 is a high performance cleaning catamaran built for the toughest environments – estuaries, coastal waters and island shores. It works in waves up to 1.5m and strong currents up to 5 knots. Its front intake system and twin arms collect floating debris up to 40cm deep, even in areas overgrown with invasive plants. With on-board sorting, continuous collection and up to 70% of its deck dedicated to debris handling, it’s a powerful tool for large-scale, targeted interventions.
How can I volunteer?
You can volunteer by organizing awareness-raising activities in schools or universities, leading a clean-up operation in your region, or joining us during public events. Every action, big or small, brings us closer to protecting our oceans!
What happens to the collected plastic?
For each expedition, we work with local partners to ensure that all waste collected is properly processed, recycled or reused. Transparency is a core value for us, so we’ve partnered with Plastiks and a certified European organisation to implement full traceability from collection to recycling. Regular updates are provided to track impact and ensure responsible waste management.

Activity reports
2024
The SeaCleaners Swiss experienced a pivotal year of transformation. In November, we acquired two Mobula boats and redirected our efforts away from the Manta project toward tangible upstream initiatives. Highlights included an awareness campaign in Geneva that engaged 600 students and a scientific conference, all while gearing up for an ambitious 3-year Malaysian expedition launching in March 2025.
2023
2023 brought significant transformation to The SeaCleaners Swiss. We appointed a new General Manager, strengthened our Board, and stepped up to lead The SeaCleaners France through their management crisis by assuming Board presidency. Our field presence expanded dramatically, reaching over 3,000 people through major events like Paléo Festival while collecting 500kg of waste across six clean-ups.
2022
2022 marked our post-pandemic resurgence. After two years of COVID restrictions, we rebuilt momentum with expanded field presence at major events including Paléo Festival, Salon du Climat, and Alternatiba. We reached over 3,000 people through 15+ awareness actions, conducted four clean-ups collecting 240kg of waste, and strengthened our board with six experienced members while focusing on corporate partnerships.
