Let the Big Spring Cleaning begin!

Our teams have been mobilized in large numbers since the beginning of the year in order to raise awareness. Let's have a look back at the first creative and ambitious actions that have marked these first months of 2022.

The SeaCleaners 1 – 0 Plastic Pollution

The SeaCleaners Nouvelle-Aquitaine team struck again with a new action in collaboration with the Burdigala Trophy and the Football Club Girondins de Bordeaux. In order for participants to learn while having fun, our teams showed their creativity by cleverly mixing soccer and plastic pollution. In terms of collection, 80 kg of waste and 3,000 cigarette butts were collected in the capital of Aquitaine.

All united against plastic pollution

6 NGOs (The SeaCleaners, Pick It Up40, Cetasea, Surfrider, Project Rescue Ocean et Ocean52) teamed up with the French singer Tom Frager for a large-scale action on the Estagnots beach in Seignosse (Landes). More than 400 participants (a record!) collected 150 kg of plastic micro-waste. We are proud to be part of this kind of events which, through the pooling of resources of several NGOs, give voice to the fight for the protection of the oceans.

To the rescue of the Huchet stream… and a Turkoman!

Clean up the Landes coastline with the help of a camel? This is the crazy idea of the association Les Camel’idées, with whom The SeaCleaners has partnered for a waste collection at the river mouth of the Huchet stream. Rescued from a circus, this turkoman, a cross between a dromedary and a camel, can carry up to 500 kg on its back. 70 participants joined forces with Dino to collect 1.5 cubic meter of waste at this river mouth, which is highly exposed to plastic pollution.

Sea pollution starts on land

This is the message that the teams of The SeaCleaners Rhône-Alpes and Île-de-France get across during their actions. Whether in Belleville-en-Beaujolais or in Les Halles, in the very center of Paris, plastic pollution concerns all of us! We are very happy to have been able to spread this awareness message among a hundred people over the past few weeks through our depollution actions.

When our corporate partners get involved

Joined by our volunteers, the teams of the Picoty Endowment Fund also played the game for a clean up  in Fouras (Charente-Maritime). A first collection for some, this event was a perfect opportunity to introduce The SeaCleaners to our sponsor’s employees. This action is the first of a series that will take place throughout the year 2022.

Many actions are still to come, everywhere in France. Don’t hesitate to join us for the collection closest to you!
